Real Estate Photography FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1. Is there an additional charge for evening shoots?
Answer: No. As most agents would know, slow-exposure evening pictures give a more beautiful look to homes, with their ambient glow. At SceneJuice.com we do not charge extra for shoots in the evening, as we consider it to be the best time to shoot real estate. A late afternoon shoot inside (with soft light from windows), finishing with exterior shots, is the best way to go.
Question 2. Can you get elevated shots? How high can you go?
Answer: Absolutely. We can use a monopod pole to extend the camera into the air for external shots where such elevation is warranted. We can raise the camera up to 15 feet. Rarely is more height than 15 feet needed with a large megapixel camera and wide-angle lens - if so, the appropriate effect can be achieved with a shift-lens.
Question 3. Can I get a city twilight shot at the same price?
Answer: Yes. Any city (or other) views can be shot at the same time as part of the package of pictures, at no extra charge.
Question 4. Can the pictures be retouched to remove sandshoes, dogs, cats, leaves from pools, storm-clouds from the sky, etc?
Answer: Absolutely. We retouch the image at no extra cost to remove anything that would detract from your property marketing images. Obviously, we don't change the nature of the property in a way that would be misrepresentative, but we can remove rubbish bins, sweep paths, all virtually! Obviously it's much better to start with a fully clean property, but sometimes that is not possible.
Question 5. Do you cover areas outside of Brisbane?
Answer: Yes. We cover Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast regions, primarily. If you want us outside that range, email us and enquire - we are usually happy to accommodate, however be aware of travel expenses. Travel beyond 15 km (straight line radius) from the Brisbane CBD costs $20 per 5 km additional one way distance.
Question 6. Will the photographer be presentable?
Answer: Yes. Our photographer, Sean Joyce, will turn up on-time, dressed in a SceneJuice shirt and with all required equipment.
Question 7. The power is off at the home - can you supply lighting?
Answer: Yes. We have equipment to work around power issues. We also have additional lighting to illuminate dark areas.
Question 8. What size and resolution are the images supplied at, and how are they supplied?
Answer: We shoot all of your images at 12.8 megapixels and resize as standard to 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high, at screen resolution of 72 dpi. The photographs are then supplied on email, or if you prefer, then can be uploaded to a weblink for your download, or can even be sent by FTP (file transfer) or CD.
Question 9. Can we get the large size images for production of signs/posters?
Answer: Yes, we shoot all of your images at 12.8 megapixels. They are generally over 3 MB, which is large for email, so they are uploaded to a weblink at SceneJuice.com for download by yourself or your print professionals. They can also be sent via FTP or CD, if preferred.
Question 10. Can you please explain the 'Fee RE6 - Clearing/Adjustment fee'?
Answer: fear not - this is very rarely charged. The adjustment fee is only for rearrangement of very unsuitable sites. Examples may include a house that is completely dirty, with dishes in the sink and every flat surface covered by books, plates, etc. Obviously photographs of this style would not be suitable, so much rearrangement would be required, which takes time. This fee would only be charged if confirmed by phone with the agent - but it is much more preferable to leave and return once the site is clean.
Question 11. Can you please explain the Fee RE5 - Late Cancellation/No-show fee?
Answer: Time is money and if we cannot access the property for photography at the time of the appointment, we must charge at least the minimum shooting fee, which is $135.
Question 12. Can we be invoiced? Will we get a tax receipt in accordance with Australia tax laws?
Answer: Yes, real estate agents can be invoice. Yes, you will be sent a tax receipt.
Question 13. Will the images have the "SceneJuice.com" logo?
Answer: No, the logo will not appear on commissioned real estate photos.
Question 14. How do we book?
